We have a 6040, ( or 40 60 cannae never remember which way round it should be!!)
Can you cut CDs with a laser?? i have seen some designs that were done on a CD with a laser and i did try it i must admit but it didnt work out. any advice at all?

Cyno, i have that glue, zap. I use it when building my model planes.. and also for glueing myself to various things like a galss lampshade still in situ on the ceiling. :D what i dont want to happen when gluing, is the cut design on the acrylic being filled with glue so you cant see the design. Thanks for that. Another problem i have, is that the clear acrylic i have cut the design onto, i want to glue onto a black acrylic background so my design can be lit up. Heya Maz, That can work for some jobs but my current batch of clients want the stuff clean cut, I do like slat beds though, they work very much the same as the bigger machines I have, great clearance for the air assist under the material and now I'm running the 63.5mm lens I rarely get any tipping ...

What John does to stop items falling into the bottom of the laser cutter as we have a slatted bed, is to leave tiny tabs on the parts being cut out so they dont tip. Half a mm is enough to keep something in place.
