Yea Im not a huge fan of the the dongle or the lack of open source.

Surely theres a way to clone a dongle?

How olds your machine?
What do you generally cut with it? I do alot of wood engraving, so I think my bearings got gunked up.

I think im having the same problem with mine.
While engraving the gantry sounds like its getting stuck, then the engraving will skip and be off. Very frustrating, will take a look at my bearings and see whats up

Now its happening alot, I think it might be the roller bearings on the gantry. I think they are shot and gunked up. Im going to see how much chris sells them for monday and replace them. It wasnt the belt as iv inspected it its perfect.

Yes it seems irrational but I cant tell if its the belt or not. Have you suffered something similar?

I turned down engraving speed from 350 to 100. Seems to have solved the issue. I presume that means I do need a belt?

Im having a odd problem when engraving. I replaced the tube last night My machine is cutting perfect today, but im having engraving problems. I emailed chris/hpc but got no reply so just went for an ebay one from hong kong

Its the brand/marking as the one in the machine anyways so hopefully its ok.

I think I have found the problem.
Took a quick look before work this morning and noticed this

The cooling pipe has come away from the tube at the mirror end. I think this may have possibly caused the tube to overheat and blow??

I was cutting some perspex last night, on about 50% power for about 5 mins, water temp getting up to around 15 degrees.
