Re: Quick Tip / Machine Cleaning

Sainsbury's have started selling basics branded baby wipes at 18p per pack. They are a bit thinner than the normal ones, but work really well on the laser.

Re: Cutting High Impact Polystyrene

Thanks Dave,
It's for cases for the GCSE electronics projects. We were hoping it would save time, but I think that drilling will be quicker and easier to set up!

Thanks again

Cutting High Impact Polystyrene

Has anyone cut High Impact Polystyrene? I'm trying to cut sheets that have been vacuum formed and whilst it is working, it seems to be making a lot of fumes and a very bad smell. Is it ok to cut HIPs on a laser?

Re: Alignment

Hi Dave,
The oil hasn't worked, how do I check the belts and adjust and how do I clean them if I need to?
Thanks

Re: Any D&T Techncians on the forum ?

Hello fellow Tekkies! I've been a DT Technician since 2004. At my previous school I was on a team of 3, but I moved to a boys school last year, so I work alone now. Nice to have some contact with others who are doing the same job. We got an LS 6090 machine in the summer. It is getting lots of use &a...

Re: Alignment

Hi Dave, I've been using 3 in 1 oil on the runners and wiping down the cutting bed with IPA. I usually get the vac to remove any bits that have fallen through and any dust. What do you use to clean the resin that birch ply leaves? IPA doesn't seem strong enough, so should I be using something else? ...

Alignment

A few days ago our LS6090 started leaving tags when cutting. If it is cutting a hole the end point doesn’t join to the start point. Has anyone else had this problem? It also seems to be moving from the start point. If I stop the machine and restart it moves a few millimeters down and to the left. Is...
