sorted.
I was cutting at 95% power and a speed of 5mm/s.
When I changed the speed up to 6, the laser switched on.
Possibly a safety feature.

yeah I can see it firing when it engraves and it fires when I press the test button.

Our laser has stopped cutting. It was working yesterday.
LS6090 -4mm birch ply.
It engraves fine but when it comes to cut the laser isn't firing.
I checked the flow valve-fine.
I fired the laser from the control panel-fine.
Checked the focus-41mm.

Any help welcome.

OK just came back to work and it seems much worse than last week. This is clear acrylic sitting on a red folder.

Thing is, I don't hold the laser button down, I just need to give it a little press and the beam stays on until switch off with the emergency stop button.

Is this supposed to happen? We have an LS6090, approx three monthys old. When I press the 'laser' button, sometimes the beam doesn't switch off. I can use the transit keys to direct the laser beam, cutting under manual control. Also, the cut lines leave a ghost/thin engraved line about 5mm below and...
