Re: Extraction of fumes and cutting speeds

I know what you mean about the extraction it gets pretty wiffy and certainly notice it after 20 minutes cutting mdf and perspex, I am already extracting outside, but I could do with a better solution. Do you have a link to the machine mart extractors?

Laser cut path

Is there any rhyme or reason to the way Lasercut 5.3 plots the laser path? I would really like to optimise the path a little more but I cant see an easy way doing so, am I missing something?

Re: Cutting Rowmark

Depends on the thickness, but I found 50/20 worked well on .75 if it is very fine work you will need to tweak the corner power

Re: Performance or lack of...

!.5 M  thats huge ! I did skin the bottom of the mount so at least it is sitting a bit better. In fairness, I know what the Chinese stuff is like as we did masses of work on my small lathe and you cant expect miracles for what they cost. Chasing this problem down has made the difference betwe...

Re: Performance or lack of...

And this is why these do not cost £15K+ . I know how you feel. As a CNC machinist and seeing the lens assembly, it really makes me shudder. It actually makes me want to do themall again, and make them out of decent aluminium. The stuff they use is shocking. No edges broken, torn finish (usual...

Re: Performance or lack of...

I has taken me since 5 this morning, but I think I have cracked it, Im getting through 2mm medite at 20/80 and I can probably lower the power a bit. I have dissembled the whole assembly and debured, lubed and adjusted everything, which improved things a lot. Basically there were a lot of small thing...

Re: Performance or lack of...

It is 62mm from the assembly mounting to the workpiece, it is the way Chris showed me. I stripped the entire head at 6 this morning which has yielded some improvement, there was some manufacturing debris in one of the threads which was tilting the assembly. Next thing is to realign the whole lot, I ...
