LS6840 Limit stop
Hi Have a couple of LS6840's and having an issue with one of them. Some very simple designs will "TEST" OK, but when cutting we're sometimes getting a "LIMIT STOP" when the head reaches the back edge of the bed. This seems to be related to certain designs only and only occurs on ...

Re: Door Interlock?
I was wondering about just sticking a cheap smoke alarm to the top of the machine with Velcro? Anyone lets the smoke out the alarm will go off and I can go shout at them

Re: Door Interlock?
It's the fifteen seconds or so between the cut finishing and the smoke being cleared that's the issue. We're using a BOFA extractor but it still takes a few tens of seconds to remove the smoke. The lid is always being opened too soon by over enthusiastic individuals and the smoke then builds up in t...

Door Interlock?
Hi All, I have an issue in that workspace users keep opening the laser cutter door before the smoke has been evacuated. It stinks and I'm concerned about the long term health effects. Is there any way to fit these machines with an interlock? I'm sort of shying away from the idea of having the door l...

Smoking/sparking
Hi All,
The machine has degraded over time. Cutting plywood I'm getting what I'd call excessive flaming and sparks (More than I used to get). Is this symptomatic of the tube wearing out? It's also charring the edges quite badly, power has dropped off a smidgen. Optics are clean and alignment OK.

Re: Help!!! machine not cutting
Did you resolve this issue?
I find that the machine I have here won't cut with a speed of 5.0. 4.9 or 5.1 work fine however! Weird! I think it's a software bug.

LS6840 Recommended Settings
Just had the tube replaced in my LS6840 and it has made a world of difference. It's now cutting twice the speed it was before! (Tube power was down to about 30w) Problem is, the recommended settings are now obsolete...does anyone have a list of recommended speed/power settings for a 60w LS6840? (Ply...

Re: LS6840 low on power
All the machines were bought in 2013 at the same time and suspect we're getting close to the lower limit of 1000 hours.
Is there any way of testing the tube or other way of verifying it's near the end of its lifespan?

LS6840 low on power
All, My LS6840 appears to be getting low on power..it's not cutting 6mm MDF as well as it should. I have replaced all the mirrors, the lens, checked the focus, alignment of mirrors and it still seems slightly low on power. We have a number of identical machines and they'll cut 6mm MDF on a speed set...
