Autocad Tapering Advice

Hi guys, Can anyone give me any pointers on autocad tapering? I've made a 2d shape, extruded it, and want to taper the edges which I've kind of got. However I want to keep the end edges straight and not tapered. I've attached a picture of what I mean. Imagine boat hull. Where the tapered meets the p...

Gluing Acrylic

Anyone any ideas what glue is best for acrylic? I've made some of those 3D puzzle models, and although the pieces are a little loose they should normally glue up fine but I can't find anything to stick them together. I've tried the glue from StarLoc Adhesives and it failed, tried super glue and it h...

Re: Not a Laser but HPC CNC - 1mm End Mills

Cheers for that. I did need a 1mm bit to do the work but I've given up. Sticking the 1/8" bits for cutting acrylic so no small jobs. I'll invest in the laser for the small jobs! ;)

Re: Not a Laser but HPC CNC - 1mm End Mills

I was doing three passes at 0.55mm cut. Problem was by the time it was coming round to the final stage of the first pass it would break. I stopped the machine a few times to clean the end but it was gumming up too quick and didn't cut then snapped.

Not a Laser but HPC CNC - 1mm End Mills

Is it possible to cut acrylic with a 1mm end mill? On any setting the acrylic is melting round the mill and then causing it to snap. I've tried alsorts, high RPM with low, medium, high feedrates, low RPM with low, medium, high feedrates. I'm getting a build up a melted plastic which stops cutting an...

Re: CNC 3030 Tool Sensor

From HPC of course :D Certainly a solid piece of kit which makes me think it's better than the other units on the market around the same size. It's a 300mm square cutting bed and I can't lift it properly on my own! £1500+vat + delivery as I couldn't get there, which is a shame as I wish I could of h...

CNC 3030 Tool Sensor

Hi guys, finally decided to get a small cnc machine for a few projects and had it delivered yesterday! :D I've been playing and trying to set it up with the limited instructions (they just tell you where the menu functions are rather than anything specific) but I can't figure out the tool sensor. Do...
