Re: Carbon / Pre Filter Remanufacturers?

Hi PhillyDee,

Just fumes from acrylic, ply and MDF. I'm aware that MDF is the one that eats through the filters!

Cheers,

James

Carbon / Pre Filter Remanufacturers?

Hi All, I have one of those BOFA AD Oracle fume extraction units, and I'm eating through the filters. Looks like my filter budget will be something like £75 per month unless I change my practices. One thing that occurred to me was whether it's possible to get the old filters remanufactured. They com...

Re: Freezes... and missing memory?

Thanks Tom, Thanks PhillyDee, I think I'm beginning to get a handle on the problem - it only seems to manifest when I attempt to cut really complex shapes. I was just cutting a tree with no leaves this morning (a file so complex that Lasercut 5.3 simply refused to "Unite Lines") and it did...

Re: Freezes... and missing memory?

Thanks Dave, The way I work on some projects, saving designs on the machine has (up until now) been completely faultless, and is VERY useful. I'm wondering whether some gak (or other mystery substance) is clogging up the memory on the machine. Is there a button-press on the machine's menu to "r...

Freezes... and missing memory?

Hi All, I've just had two problems this week, with different files. One was damn simple: two concentric circles. The other was a much more complex cut. Both had nice 8.3 filenames. In both cases the laser (3060) complained about being out of memory when I went to load the file from USB. In both case...

Re: One machine just a smidge weak

Hi PhillyDee, Hi Spooky,

Interesting! The thing I've found strange is how I've changed the tube on the weaker laser... and it's still almost exactkly the same amount weaker! I guess I may have just hit lucky with the stronger one and got an unusually high output tube.

All the best,

James

One machine just a smidge weak

Hi All, I have two 60w 3060's and one of them is, well, just not QUITE as good as the other one. I've cleaned and adjusted the hell out of it many times. I've replaced the mirrors, lens, laser tube (I used the old tube until it was shagged) but it's still not 100% as good as the other one. (In fact,...

Re: Annoying LaserCut 5.3 glitch

Yes, I've experienced exactly this glitch time and again, but I'm not sure that the problem is with Laserscript. As far as I can see, the software inside the controller boards uses a weak check, possibly just the filename (or file size?) to judge whether a file has changed or not. I make it a habit ...

Antifreeze for Ghetto Cooling?

Hello All, I'm a firm proponent of what a friend of mine cheekily calls "ghetto cooling". I save money by using a pond cooler to cool a single tank of water which I feed to my two 3060s. I monitor the temperature with two digital sensors controlled by a Raspberry Pi, so I have three data p...
