Re: stress fractures/cracks
Cyno, i have that glue, zap. I use it when building my model planes.. and also for glueing myself to various things like a galss lampshade still in situ on the ceiling. Be carefull on perspex with cyano , it does have to be the odourless ( foam safe ) one to be safest as the standard type CA ( ethy...

As spooky says a dichloromethane based weld is best for welding there are other solvent welds but dichloromethane works best, we do one `poly weld` that has some other solvents such as methylmethacrylate ( the monomer used to produce perspex ) in it as well ,it works similar to the one with acetic a...

Re: Temperatures!
The temperature change with ice cubes will not be a problem , the temperature changes quite slowly, ive used it quite a bit and we use it quite often on small distillation setups in the lab with glass condensors when vaccum distilling to knock temperature sof condensate down rapidly

Re: Temperatures!
I tend to cut about 5 hours at a time , if the temp starts to get high ( or if im going to be doing a lot of cutting of plywood at higher power ) i drop a couple of ice cubes in the tank,it seems to work fine and keeps it nice and cool.

Re: Laser engraving when it's meant to cut
I am running newlydraw, but ive always presumed the power was a percent of the power so would be roughly the same between machines on the same power tube I always cut with the lowest power needed, at a sensible speed but any higher power even with higher speed gives me problems with burning undernea...

Re: Laser engraving when it's meant to cut
When mine has lost the ability to cut this its been down to one of 2 things, the most usual one has been i have knocked it to manual power instead of the computer controling it as i put the material in to cut , i have a 3040 so its probably not the same? but i have a switch just in the front corner ...
