Good afternoon

Post by creative »

Hello to you all
we have just taken delivery of an LS2515 and waiting for it to be hooked up, i will be no doubt asking for advice as we are from the world of CNC routers.
One question i have is about adhesive tape backing, i am looking at pre applying a film to the back of perspex so that the letters come pre glued when cut.

Anyone suggest a wide-ish film non PVC obviously.

I know 908LTD do a similar thing, might be worth asking them.

Hi Martin,

I have tried this and whilst not all double sided sticky tape is the same, I found that the Perspex vaporises OK but the sticky tape caused a heat build up creating a slightly raised lip to the cut edges on the rear surface of the Perspex. Although hardly noticeable this did impair the quality of the bond when subsequently fitting the letters so I reverted back to using adhesive.
