round and round it goes

Post by TimBobTastic »

I am thinking of expanding my mini empire / part time stuff making business to include engraving an cutting (tubes) of circular items, such as glasses, tubes, rolling pins, columns... you get the picture...

Has anyone got experience with the HPC rotary attachment for the 3060?

Is it easy to set up / swap in and out? (how long, 5 minutes, an hour, somewhere in between?)
what diameter range could I typically work with?
what is the maximum working length?
Is there anything special I need to do when engraving glass?
Are then any third party alternatives?
if so... ARE THEY ANY GOOD?

Do I need to change the pulse settings for the attachment, OR, can I calculate a unilateral scale multiplier, and iff so, will this be a per diameter calculation or will it work across all diameters?

I guess if I use the attachment to cut slots ins tubes (I have a design I am cogitating) I will need to find a way of protecting the inside of the tube from the laser beam... I think I have a solution for this.... but there is no point designing it if i don't need it....

Thanks everyone....

Hi Tim
The rotary for the 3060 is a chuck type Don't know the size
It plugs into the Y axis simple unplug and plug in (machine should be turned off for this)
Yes you have too change the pulse setting (there is a formula for this)

Hope this helps
