Laser strength going?

Post by teachermatt »

Good morning, I have recently had a service (which was great may I add)

However now we're all in quarantine I thought I would use the laser a bit more... I have noticed that when cutting its cutting fine on half the bed and then invisible on the other side like the power is cutting out.... If I am doing multiple of the same thing I often make a template and just keep adding the parts on top, like a square for example... 4 squares are fine and then 2 the laser will go over it but just leaves no mark...

Please advice.

Many thanks
Matt

If it cuts ok in one place on the bed but not another it is more likely the mirror alignment but the fact it is running out of power in the same place sounds more like it is overheating - check water supply is ok and the flow is ok - the flow sensors do sometimes stick and allow the laser to fire with no flow.
I made a flow sensor for this and it saves any issues ;)
