not sure if anyone would find this interesting however here it is
I have found a very cheap cleaning product for cleaning the smoke build up off the machines for those of you that cut lots of wood.
Like most ive been using baby wipes which work very well but dry out to quickly and don't always get in the nooks where you need to get so having looked at the ingredients on the packed discovered that simple citric acid was the one doing the work. so i went and bought a kilo in crystal form.
After a little trial and error i found that a mixture of 2 to 3 teaspoons of crystals to 500ml cold water seems to work the best.
now i can either brush the liquid on or put it into a spray bottle for application, wait a few seconds then remove with tissue or cloth.
i forgot to mention that a kilo of crystals only cost £3.
let me know if this helps anyone else

Re: machine cleaning
Hmm, looks like I will be trying that one out . If you have an easy way to wash acrylic residue off, im all ears. Acetone does my head in. No decent easy to use protection, hazardous stuff. Tried washing in soapy water, but no good!

Re: machine cleaning
i have a sheet of acrylic at each end of the machine to box in the tube a little more and cut down on the smoke build up on the tube and first mirror, i can tell you that the solution does clean these perfectly.
Let me know if it does indeed do the job for you.

Re: machine cleaning
Oops, meant off the cut part itself. Its a bugger cleaning them up!
Just to say, never use acetone to clean lens or mirrors or tubes. Its too harsh and could result in damage
always use an alcohol based cleaner such as isopropanol.
